Software Engineer - Internal Operations Platform

I am looking for a capable software engineer to help strengthen and expand the internal operations platform used by my growing 3D printing manufacturing business. This is not a simple website build. The core system already exists and operates like a lightweight manufacturing or ERP system. It supports the flow of customer orders into work orders, production scheduling, machine management, inventory tracking, and job completion. I need someone who can understand an existing codebase, identify weak points, close integration gaps, and help turn the platform into a more reliable and scalable system. THIS IS NOT A PAID INTERNSHIP, BUT THAT CAN CHANGE BASED ON PERFORMANCE AS THE COMPANY GROWS.

The work may include:

• Reviewing and improving the existing front end and back end
• Connecting external platforms and APIs
• Improving database structure and data flow
• Strengthening authentication and system security
• Automating workflows between invoices, work orders, scheduling, and production
• Connecting real-time printer data to job and material tracking
• Identifying technical problems and recommending practical solutions

You do not need previous 3D printing experience. I will explain the business, production workflow, and how information should move through the system. You must already have the technical ability to translate those requirements into working software without needing step-by-step coding instruction.

Experience with APIs, databases, authentication, system integrations, manufacturing software, ERP systems, or internal business applications is strongly preferred.

This role will begin on a limited, part-time basis. I am looking for someone who wants to build something lasting, not simply complete a few isolated tasks. You will work directly with me to improve and expand the platform as the business grows.

Someone who demonstrates strong technical ability, ownership, reliability, and problem-solving skills may have the opportunity to grow into a larger long-term engineering or technical leadership role within the company.
