Job description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior NOC Technician with a strong background in transport networks to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. In this critical role, you’ll ensure the integrity, performance, and stability of cutting-edge SDH, DWDM, and photonic mesh networks across a large-scale telecom infrastructure. You will be part of a high-performing team providing Tier 1 technical support, incident resolution, and network quality assurance, primarily for operations defined by Telefónica. If you thrive in fast-paced, high-responsibility environments and have deep knowledge of optical transport systems, we want to hear from you., + Perform Level 1 incident management: diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in SDH and DWDM transport networks.

  • Support circuit activation and monitoring across various technologies and customer services (E1, STM, GE, 100/400GE, etc.).
  • Manage customer complaints and provide technical support to on-site field teams.
  • Conduct network quality analysis, identify performance issues, and propose corrective measures.
  • Coordinate shift activities, ensuring smooth handovers and 24/7 service continuity.
  • Escalate issues to vendors and internal teams using GRI, Telefónica mail, and other tools.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of hands-on experience as a NOC Technician specializing in transport network technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of SDH, DWDM, and advanced optical/photonic mesh networks.
  • Familiarity with Huawei and Nokia equipment and network management systems.
  • Proven experience supporting large telecom operators, with deep understanding of Telefónica’s support and operation protocols.
  • Technical proficiency in OTN, GMPLS, optical protections (1+1, MSP, SNCP), and high-capacity customer circuits.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex incidents efficiently under pressure. Tools & Technologies

  • Network Management Systems: Huawei U2000, Nokia NFM/T
  • Reporting & Analysis: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI
  • Communication & Vendor Coordination Tools: GRI, internal email systems Languages

  • Spanish - fluent (mandatory)
  • English - intermediate or higher (preferred, not required)
