Job description

  • Setting up and maintaining Linux-based compute servers and desktops/notebooks, and providing end-user support to our engineering teams;
  • Bringing DevOps experience within software development, e.g., CI/CD pipeline, and Gitlab/runners;
  • Setting up and maintaining operating systems and automation software: taking care of Innatera’s Tooling, e.g., Ansible, FreeIPA, Cobbler, Uyuni, GLPI;
  • Optimize CEPH storage infrastructure running engineering design software;
  • Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement best practices for system administration;
  • In addition to the above, actively assist with physical datacenter operations, including racking, cabling, and servicing servers and network equipment to maintain and optimize our infrastructure.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic System Engineer (Linux) with DevOps experience to help our growing R&D Engineering team and manage our expanding compute server infrastructure used by our global R&D teams for chip design. This is a mission-critical role and an opportunity to do deeply impactful work., * At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, including on-prem computing infrastructure management;

  • Experience in DevOps within SDLC and automation and orchestration tools, like Docker, GitLab, VMs;
  • Experience with Virtualization tools (like VMware or Proxmox) and distributed filesystem (CEPH/CEPHFS);
  • Good understanding of end-user hardware, software, Linux OS, and end-user periphery;
  • Knowledge in Linux OS system management, Mac, and Windows is a plus;
  • Experience in setting up infrastructure and running engineering design applications;
  • Experience with set up and maintenance of automation tooling, e.g., Ansible, FreeIPA, Cobbler, Uyuni, GLPI;
  • Comfortable with sprint work, with periods of high and low work space.

Nice to have:

  • Experienced with a fabless chip design environment;
  • Knowledge of implementing and managing design tool installations on-prem, e.g,. Cadence and Siemens tools are a plus;
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining the NIS2 security standard.

  • Able to handle high-end/low workload (e.g., tape-out phase);
  • Having a “Can-do” attitude and being a resilient problem-solver;
  • A self-starter with excellent communication and a customer-oriented mindset.
