Juinor/Graduate Software Engineer

This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer to develop within a genuine product team, working on software used daily by customers across the UK. You’ll be mentored by more senior engineers while getting hands-on with real features, not just internal projects. The tech stack is flexible - Python, JavaScript, or similar - so this suits someone with solid fundamentals rather than deep specialism in one language.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Write, test, and maintain code across the product under senior guidance
• Fix bugs and contribute to feature development
• Participate in code reviews and take feedback on board
• Work with product and engineering colleagues to understand requirements
• Build understanding of the wider codebase and architecture over time
• Support testing and quality checks ahead of releases
• Learn and apply the team’s engineering standards and practices
• Ask questions and build technical judgement through mentorship

Essential:

• A relevant degree (Computer Science or similar) or equivalent hands-on project experience
• Solid understanding of at least one modern language (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
• Genuine interest in software engineering as a career, evidenced by personal projects, internships, or coursework
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior engineers
• Good communication skills

Desirable:

• Some exposure to web frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask, React, Node)
• Familiarity with Git and basic CI/CD concepts
• Any placement, internship, or junior commercial experience

• Salary £28,000 - £32,000 per annum
