Teamlead Data Foundations & Governance

As Team Lead Data Foundations & Governance, you will provide both functional and disciplinary leadership to a team of Data Governance and Master Data experts within the Döhler Technology organization.

You will be responsible for the further development and operationalization of Data Governance for key SAP-driven data objects and business processes. In this role, you will combine people leadership, SAP and process expertise, governance know-how, and strong project and stakeholder management skills.

Your mission is to establish clear ownership, scalable standards, and effective governance mechanisms, creating the foundation for reliable master data, efficient business processes, trusted reporting, and future automation and AI initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Data Governance team while fostering professional growth and building organizational capabilities
• Manage the team’s project and task portfolio, ensuring effective prioritization, resource planning, and on-time delivery
• Develop and implement the Data Governance operating model, including policies, standards, roles, and governance processes
• Own the governance and quality of key SAP master data domains, including Material, Customer, Supplier, Business Partner, and Organizational data
• Lead Data Governance, Master Data Management, SAP MDG, and SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives, including resource, risk, and stakeholder management
• Drive high data quality by defining and monitoring KPIs, SLAs, and reporting, while implementing sustainable corrective and preventive measures
• Collaborate closely with business functions, IT, Data Owners, Process Owners, and external implementation and consulting partners to drive governance initiatives
• Enhance data catalogs, business glossaries, metadata management, and data lineage while ensuring consistent documentation of data rules and ownership
• Plan and deliver training, communication, and change management initiatives while building a company-wide Data Governance community
• Represent the Data Governance function to senior management and international stakeholders, translating strategic business objectives into sustainable governance roadmaps and initiatives

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in Data Governance, Master Data Management, SAP Consulting, SAP MDG, or Business Process Management
• Proven leadership experience with a strong track record of developing, coaching, and empowering teams
• In-depth knowledge of SAP-based business processes and master data management, particularly in SAP MM and/or SAP SD, as well as end-to-end processes such as Source-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash
• Experience designing and implementing Data Governance frameworks, operating models, and Data Ownership and Data Stewardship concepts
• Demonstrated success in leading complex SAP, MDM, SAP MDG, or transformation projects, combined with strong project, portfolio, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong understanding of SAP data models, ideally complemented by experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP MDG, and modern data management platforms
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills with a strong process, quality, and service orientation
• Outstanding communication, facilitation, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior management and international stakeholders
• Strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic, hands-on approach; excellent English communication skills and ideally experience with Jira, Confluence, Power BI, Celonis, SAP BW, Databricks, or Data Quality tools
