Job description

You will be the technical backbone behind the group’s reporting and insight: building a trusted single source of truth, integrating data from e-commerce, ERP, CRM, and marketing systems, and making sure everything runs quickly and reliably. You will report to the Head of Customer Insight & Analytics, who sets the commercial questions your platform is built to answer., * Own the Power BI / Microsoft Fabric estate - semantic models, datasets, dataflows, workspaces, and Fabric capacity.

  • Design and maintain robust, well-documented data models (star schemas, relationships, DAX measures) as a single source of truth across all four brands.
  • Build, monitor, and optimise data pipelines integrating multiple sources (e-commerce/Shopify, ERP, CRM, marketing platforms, catalogue, and finance).
  • Optimise performance - query tuning (DAX, SQL, Power Query/M), refresh times, and capacity usage - keeping reports fast and responsive.
  • Ensure platform stability and reliability: refresh scheduling, monitoring, alerting, error handling, and incident resolution.
  • Implement data governance and security frameworks - row-level security, access control, naming and version standards, and documentation - to ensure accuracy, consistency, and security.
  • Automate reporting and manual processes to reduce effort and error.
  • Prepare clean, well-structured data to enable advanced analytics and AI/ML use cases.
  • Manage deployment across development, test, and production environments, with proper version control.
  • Work with the Head of Customer Insight & Analytics to refine requirements before building - advising on feasibility, options, and trade-offs, then translating the agreed brief into well-built, maintainable solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience building and optimising in Power BI (advanced DAX, Power Query/M, and data modelling).
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, or the wider Azure data stack (Synapse, Data Factory, Lakehouse/OneLake, Dataflows Gen2).
  • Strong SQL; Python an advantage.
  • Demonstrable ETL/ELT pipeline design and integration of multiple source systems.
  • Performance optimisation and Power BI / Fabric capacity management.
  • Solid data governance, security (RLS), and documentation discipline.
  • Retail or e-commerce data experience (Shopify, ERP, CRM) preferred.
  • Methodical, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning platform reliability.
  • Good communication skills - able to work effectively with analysts and non-technical stakeholders.
