Job description

Signal Cable Inc. is seeking dependable Fiber Network Technicians to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic infrastructure. This field-based role involves working at residential and commercial locations to complete service installations, troubleshoot network issues, and help maintain reliable telecommunications services.

We’re looking for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, take pride in quality workmanship, and are committed to providing excellent service while following company safety standards.

This is a full-time W-2 position with consistent work opportunities and long-term career growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Install, splice, test, and maintain fiber optic cable and network equipment.
  • Complete service installations, repairs, and maintenance assignments in the field.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues and restore service efficiently.
  • Accurately document completed work, materials used, and required production records.
  • Follow company procedures, customer requirements, and established quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by complying with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Protect customer property and existing infrastructure during all field activities.
  • Operate and maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles responsibly.
  • Communicate job progress, scheduling updates, and field conditions with supervisors and dispatch.

Requirements

Previous experience in telecommunications, fiber infrastructure, construction support, or technical field services preferred

  • Familiarity with fiber optic systems, installation environments, or low-voltage applications is beneficial.
  • Ability to operate standard field tools, handheld devices, and work-related equipment - General understanding of networking principles and communication systems Good organizational abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working independently or within a field team environment Valid driver’s license required

Additional Requirements

  • Maintain a professional appearance while representing the company.
  • Have access to a truck, van, or SUV suitable for daily field work.
  • Successfully pass a background check and drug screening, where permitted by law.
  • Provide and maintain the required tools needed to perform assigned job duties.
  • Be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks.
