Job description

The Data Engineer supports the digital transformation of our manufacturing operations, translating technical requirements from our factories into targeted solutions that fit into Ready Foods’ broader data framework, roadmap, and architecture. The Data Engineer is responsible for supporting the extract, transform, and load processes of our industrial internet of things (IoT) data and enterprise data. This position is full-time salaried position reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer.

  • Integration of factory data, production operations data, manufacturing performance data, operational safety data, preventive maintenance data, and ERP data into on premises and cloudbased IoT tools to support the collection, analysis, and reliable consumption of real time data.
  • Design, implement, and operationalize data pipelines to support the data lifecycle for our factory Industrial IoT data to achieve Industry 4.0 transformation. Structuring data sets for machine learning based predictive models, cleaning data, and feeding it through Artificial Intelligence models.
  • Design, develop, and deliver the cloud platforms and tools needed for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of manufacturing sensors and factory Industrial IoT data.
  • Support the extraction, development and delivery of data for a Unified Manufacturing Model for our factories and the enterprise to drive manufacturing operational excellence.
  • Partner cross-functionally with manufacturing and business stakeholders to ensure data validity and platform buy-in.
  • Support delivery of a master data model and pipeline for Industrial IoT and enterprise data.
  • Design and deliver solutions to support real-time manufacturing data streaming, manufacturing equipment and process events & condition monitoring, and predictive maintenance.
  • Working closely with 3rd party data architects and internal data team to develop deep understanding of our data ecosystem and communicate with business unit partners.
  • Provide training and support the technical development of fellow team members.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Supply chain?, * Master’s Degree in Data/computer science, an engineering discipline, or related.

  • Work experience in manufacturing settings and data integrations with ERP, Supply Chain systems, QA systems, Financial systems, and Operational Systems.
  • Proficiency in cloud architecture, cloud-based data structures, cloud application programming interfaces, and cloud data security preferably in high transaction real-time manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with cloud-based data lake platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Azure, Hadoop, AWS, or GCP to ingest and process high volume industrial or telemetry data.
  • Experience with cloud resource cost management and optimization.
  • Knowledge and experience with manufacturing Operational Technology (OT)-Information Technology (IT) networks and machine data ingestion frameworks.
  • Experience in SQL, object-oriented language (Python, C#, Java), shell scripting, and file formats (JSON, Parquet, Avro).
  • Deliver manufacturing and operational data insights through Power BI or Tableau.
  • Detail oriented self-starter, with a growth mindset and a passion for data.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
