Job description

Akkodis is seeking a Linux Administrator for a Contract with a client in Kansas City, KS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering and supporting Linux and VMware infrastructure, ensuring system performance, storage reliability, and operational stability across datacenter environments., Administer and support Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and VMware infrastructure in enterprise datacenter environments. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex performance issues related to CPU, memory, disk I/O, storage, and virtualization platforms. Manage advanced file systems (XFS, EXT4), multipathing, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel (FC) storage environments. Lead critical P1 incident calls, perform root cause analysis, and drive issue resolution to minimize business impact. Implement system automation through scripting and support proactive infrastructure maintenance and optimization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, operational stability, and efficient deployment of infrastructure solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field. 6-8+ years of experience in Linux, VMware, and enterprise datacenter infrastructure administration. Strong hands-on expertise with RHEL/Ubuntu administration, VMware virtualization, XFS/EXT4 file systems, multipathing, and storage technologies (iSCSI and Fibre Channel). Proven experience in performance troubleshooting, root cause analysis, P1 incident management, file system recovery, automation scripting, and enterprise infrastructure support.
