Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. This might involve guiding customers as they refactor an application or designing entirely new cloud-based systems. Do you enjoy solving novel and unique technical challenges for customers? Become an AWS Specialist SA!

The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market (GTM) plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you’ll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. We pride ourselves on thinking big, delivering exceptional results for our customers, and working across AWS as #OneTeam.

Within WWSO, this position is part of the Worldwide Specialist Team, where you will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for designing In-Memory architectures leveraging AWS services. In-Memory DB Specialist Solutions Architect will work closely with the Database Services team, Business Development and Sales to enable large-scale customer use cases and drive the adoption and revenue of AWS. You will work with the largest companies in the world to design flexible and cost-effective cloud-based solutions. You will develop whitepapers, blogs, reference architectures, and presentations to enable customers and partners to fully leverage AWS services. You will also create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help other SA’s understand how to integrate AWS caching services into customer architectures. As a trusted advisor and strategic leader with technical expertise in In-Memory/NoSQL database systems, you will share recommendations around security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency to accelerate building key data solutions and applications on AWS for our customers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
  • Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.
  • Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
  • Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
  • Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.
