Job description

I’m working with an innovative software company that’s looking to hire an experienced Lead Quality Engineer to take ownership of quality across a complex, customer facing platform.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you’ll define quality standards, build scalable testing processes, and help shape the future of quality engineering within a growing product team.

The Role:

You’ll be responsible for developing and evolving the overall quality strategy, ensuring software is released confidently and reliably while supporting a fast-paced engineering environment.

Working closely with developers and product teams, you’ll drive automation, improve testing practices, and establish quality as a key part of the development lifecycle., Own the quality strategy and release process. Develop and enhance automated testing frameworks. Strengthen end-to-end and regression testing. Improve release confidence through effective quality gates. Turn production issues into automated regression coverage. Lead exploratory testing for business-critical functionality. Mentor and develop junior QA engineers. Champion best practice across quality engineering.

Requirements

5+ years’ experience in QA, Quality Engineering, or SDET roles. Proven depth in frontend quality: e2e suites (Playwright, Cypress, or similar) that catch interaction-level regressions, visual regression, and real browser verification integrated into CI/CD. Experience building quality gates and release processes for teams that ship continuously. Active use of AI tooling in your own QA work - we will ask how it has changed your practice in the last year. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge release decisions when required. The ability to work independently within a fully remote environment.

Desirable Experience

Testing complex web applications. Experience in highly regulated, enterprise, or business-critical software. Exposure to modern software delivery practices and AI-assisted development.

Benefits & conditions

Fully remote working. Genuine ownership of the quality function. A key leadership position within an ambitious product business. The opportunity to influence engineering standards from the ground up. €65k up to €95k base salary

If you’re passionate about building quality into software from day one and enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, I’d love to speak with you
