Job description

Develop KSS Anti-Cheat and client security features to detect and respond to cheats, tampering, bypasses, automation, and unauthorized tools that may occur in game runtime environments.

Based on an understanding of user-mode and kernel-mode behavior in Windows environments, you will analyze security threats that occur between game clients and the operating system, and design and implement security features with stability and performance in mind.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop C++-based game security / Anti-Cheat client modules
  • Detect and respond to cheat behaviors such as game client tampering, memory manipulation, code injection, hooking, debugging, and automation tools
  • Design and implement user-mode and kernel-mode security features
  • Conduct security analysis based on Windows internals and OS behavior, including processes, threads, memory, drivers, and system calls
  • Review and improve the stability, performance, and false-positive risk of security detection logic
  • Analyze new cheat and attack techniques and research defensive technologies
  • Provide technical support and improvements to ensure KSS security features are reliably applied across various game environments

Requirements

  • 5+ years of C++ software development skills
  • 5+ years of experience developing Windows-based client software, or equivalent understanding
  • Understanding of Windows internals, including processes, threads, virtual memory, synchronization, DLLs, and PE structures
  • Ability to understand x64 assembly code and analyze the behavior of disassembled code
  • Understanding of core operating system concepts such as kernels, drivers, system calls, interrupts, and memory management
  • Basic knowledge of computer architecture, CPU operation, memory structure, and executable file loading processes
  • Ability to analyze problems from a security perspective and design solutions while considering potential bypass methods, * Experience developing Anti-Cheat, DRM, EDR, security solutions, or client protection technologies
  • Experience developing Windows kernel drivers
  • Understanding of x86/x64 assembly, calling conventions, exception handling, and debugging techniques
  • Experience using analysis/debugging tools such as IDA, Ghidra, WinDbg, and x64dbg
  • Understanding of techniques such as code injection, API hooking, manual mapping, DKOM, rootkits, anti-debugging, and anti-tamper
  • Understanding of Windows platform security technologies such as TPM, Secure Boot, VBS, and HVCI
  • Experience operating security features reliably in large-scale live game environments
  • Experience in low-level system programming with consideration for performance, stability, and compatibility
