Job description

It is our purpose to provide World Class GIS solutions that exceed our Member’s expectations. This will be done through the building and maintenance of our Member’s GIS databases using NISC’s proprietary Mapping GIS solution as well as other GIS solutions., * Setup, edit and maintain GIS datasets for Members including, but not limited to; layers, fields, domains, geometric networks, and associated attributes and assets.

  • Perform quality assurance including; collecting and analyzing database updates and work orders to ensure ā€œas-builtā€ conversion process is successful.
  • Assist with the scheduling, tracking, monitoring, and leading GIS projects to ensure start time and deadlines are met, keeping all stakeholders informed.
  • Provide technical and analytical support to internal customers for our GIS software.
  • Provide software enhancement recommendations for our GIS software,
  • Commitment to NISC’s Statement of Shared Values.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Moderate level knowledge of business-related software applications and services.
  • Moderate level knowledge of:
  • ArcPro
  • ArcGIS Desktop
  • ArcCatalog
  • Working knowledge of:
  • ArcToolbox
  • ArcGIS Server
  • Python experience (the ability to customize existing scripts)
  • Moderate level knowledge of the Utility and/or Telecom industries.
  • Excellent level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone/email etiquette and an ability to deal effectively with Member/Customers.
  • Excellent level ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent level ability to multi task and time manage.
  • Leverage generative AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity, creativity, and problem-solving within the scope of the role.
  • Excellent level ability to demonstrate initiative and accountability
  • Ability to travel as often as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the position.

Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geoscience, Cartography, GIS or equivalent experience
