Job description
Due to continued expansion in the US, GlobalStep is looking for Video Game Test Leads. You will be part of a growing testing team providing technology services to our global customer base.
As a QA Test Lead, you’ll be responsible for:
- Leading various projects
- Supervising and leading a group of QA testers per project
- Validate test requests and set up projects before tests start
- Assigning clear tasks to testers
- Managing time and resources to meet project deadlines and requirements
- Managing various bug-tracking databases depending on each project needs
- Validating bug reports from testers and ensuring they meet the client and company standards
- Developing and updating comprehensive test plans and detailed test cases
- Verifying that checklists are understood and diligently followed by the testers
- Participating in the training, motivation and evolution of each tester
- Evaluating tester performance
- Being the main point of contact with clients and maintaining a high level of communication
- Escalating urgent or critical problems to management and/or client, depending on the situation
- Participating in the evolution of the QA services and strategies
- Creating and sending detailed test reports to clients
- Creating post-mortem on projects if required
- Device management: responsible for devices used by the team and following company procedures about getting and returning devices, account management and other rules
- Assisting management with any other task, including scoping projects and testing
- Demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism and fostering a positive working environment
- Mentoring, coaching and training testers and future test leads
Requirements
- 3+ years of Games QA experience, including shipping at least 1 AAA title
- QA experience at all stages of the development cycle
- Experience leading Games QA teams and projects
- Excellent communication skills using spoken and written English
- Highly proficient QA tools such as bug-tracking databases (i.e. JIRA), test case management software (i.e. TestRail), checklists on MS Excel
Preferred:
- Understanding of Agile workflow and how Games QA fits this methodology
- Experience working for a Games QA Outsourcing company as a Games QA Lead
- Experience working on multiple titles
- Technical knowledge of games consoles and terminology
- Technical knowledge of Windows PCs and Mac devices
- Experience in technical network testing using various diagnostic tools, * Ability to prioritize testing tasks under tight deadlines
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Team player
- Work well under pressure
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as business needs evolve
- Strong communicator who serves as a mentor to the team, * Halo video games: 5 years (Required)
