Job description

Flint Hills Resources (FHR) is seeking a Network Analyst. In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for supporting the network infrastructure and technology stack that enables secure, reliable, and scalable connectivity critical to business operations. You will contribute to the monitoring, lifecycle management, configuration, and incident response of a diverse network environment, including routing and switching platforms, firewalls, and cloud-based networking services, helping to ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of production systems through proactive issue identification, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of network stability and scalability.

Our Team

You will be part of a small, highly collaborative team with end-to-end ownership of the technology stack, offering a unique opportunity to build broad expertise across network infrastructure, security, and adjacent systems rather than operating within a narrow silo. The team combines an agile, close-knit dynamic with the resources and scale of a large enterprise, while maintaining direct exposure to business workflows and key stakeholders. This environment fosters a strong connection between technology and business outcomes within an organization that views technology as a key driver of transformation and innovation.

This role will involve occasional travel to support remote locations in addition to being part of an on-call rotation (typically one week/month).

What You Will Do

  • Monitoring and Incident Response: Monitor for, and respond to, failure modes across network infrastructure and connectivity services impacting critical business operations; requires breadth of knowledge and critical thinking to isolate faults and resolve complex network issues
  • Performance Monitoring & Capacity Planning: Monitor and optimize network performance using tools such as SolarWinds and Tufin; establish baselines and support capacity planning to ensure scalability, resilience, and high availability
  • Network Lifecycle Management: Participate in lifecycle management activities, including device provisioning, patching, firmware upgrades, configuration management, and documentation across routing, switching, and firewall platforms
  • Network Security & Access Control: Support firewall policy management, network segmentation, and secure connectivity (e.g., VPNs), ensuring alignment with security standards and business requirements
  • Relationship Development: Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, and firewall technologies
  • Experience with network monitoring, incident management, and production support in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols such as OSPF/BGP, VPNs)
  • Understanding of network security principles, including firewall rules, segmentation, and access control
  • Experience managing complex network and cloud connectivity in 24x7x365 industrial or enterprise environments
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Exposure to scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or similar) to support operational efficiency
  • Experience with enterprise firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet)
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (e.g., VPCs, subnets, hybrid connectivity, load balancing)
  • Experience with network automation or infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
  • Hands-on experience in process control or industrial environments, especially petrochemical or manufacturing sectors
