Job description

Envision Innovative Solutions is seeking a motivated, career-oriented, and customer-focused Senior Database Administrator to join our team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. This onsite position is responsible for the administration, optimization, security, and availability of enterprise database environments supporting mission-critical systems.., * Maintain the integrity, security, availability, and performance of multiple databases, including disaster recovery, monitoring, tuning, and index/partition optimization.

  • Administer Oracle and cloud native database technologies (AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB), including installation, configuration, OEM management, and lifecycle maintenance.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize PL/SQL procedures, queries, schema changes, and data structures to support efficient storage, retrieval, and application performance.
  • Implement and enforce database security policies, user account management, data at rest/in transit protections, and Oracle Label Security (OLS).
  • Support database migration efforts, including transitioning Oracle on prem environments to AWS RDS, and design solutions for resilience and high availability.
  • Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, locking issues, and system anomalies while directing performance optimization and structural redesign efforts.
  • Evaluate DBMS products, recommend solutions, and guide the adoption of emerging database tools, technologies, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years’ experience as a DBA
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional DBA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • Current/Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
