Lead AWS Security Engineer

Are you ready to join a group of passionate information security professionals focused on State Farm’s safe adoption of public cloud infrastructure? In this role you will be able to showcase your knowledge of various ways application infrastructure can be attacked in the cloud and the configurations that can be used to prevent it. You will be challenged to think “outside the box” in creating detections for these situations and will work across multiple product teams within the enterprise to create consumable security solutions

• Help maintain and enhance a python-based detection tool, hosted in the cloud.
• Partner with technical teams across the enterprise to develop and test cloud-based detection rules.
• Research new cloud services and determine new detection rules.
• Communicate change to cloud-based vulnerability management. This could be new detections, expanding the scope of monitoring, etc.
• Participate in rotating on-call assignments., * Help maintain and enhance a python-based detection tool, hosted in the cloud.

Required technical skills/experiences:

• 6 plus years experience in application/infrastructure development and support in AWS
• Experience with various software development tooling and techniques (e.g. Python, GitLab, Terraform)
• Knowledge of information security industry standards and practices
• Current threats and trends impacting the information security threat landscape

Other required skills/education:

• Passion for solving problems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative agile team environment
• Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment

Additional skills/experiences benefiting someone in this role:

• Experience using cloud native container services
• Relevant information security or public cloud certification(s)
• Experience creating and supporting application dashboards
• Experience troubleshooting applications via log review, * 6 plus years experience in application/infrastructure development and support in AWS
• Experience with various software development tooling and techniques (e.g. Python, GitLab, Terraform)

• Potential starting salary range: $107,000 - $163,000. Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience. High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
• Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary
