Job description
A growing technology solutions provider is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Network Engineer to support enterprise network infrastructure and security initiatives within a dynamic IT environment., The Mid-Level Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role plays a critical part in supporting the organization’s IT operations and driving continuous improvement through proactive network management and troubleshooting., * Configure, deploy, and support LAN/WAN network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
- Monitor network performance, conduct troubleshooting, and resolve connectivity issues to minimize downtime
- Implement network security measures, including intrusion prevention, access controls, and security monitoring tools (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, IPsec VPNs, SSL VPNs)
- Maintain and update network documentation, diagrams, and asset inventories
- Support network upgrades, patches, and firmware updates using enterprise management tools (e.g., Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, Nagios)
- Assist with integrating network systems with cloud services and SaaS platforms (AWS, Azure, Office 365)
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on threat mitigation and incident response plans
- Support remote sites and telecommuting infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity and security
- Maintain compliance with organization-wide policies and industry best practices for networking and cybersecurity
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering, including design, installation, and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DNS, DHCP) and network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, HP, Arista)
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, VPNs, and remote access solutions (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, IPsec, SSL VPNs)
- Proficiency with network management and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Cisco Prime, Wireshark)
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat mitigation, and incident handling
- Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and document solutions effectively
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with cloud networking and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of SD-WAN, VPN technologies, and network automation tools (Ansible, Python scripting)
- Familiarity with data center networking and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
