Job description
We’re hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support the build of next-generation
spacecraft hardware. You’ll own the path from engineering drawing to flight-ready
hardware - writing the work instructions, owning the build sequence, and driving
manufacturability back into the design.
What you’ll do
- Translate engineering drawings, models, and configurations into manufacturing
work instructions covering receiving inspection, fabrication, assembly,
integration, test, and refurbishment
- Lead DFM/DFA reviews and provide final drawing approval for manufacturing
- Identify and deploy new manufacturing methods to improve quality, reduce cost,
and compress build schedule
- Run FMEA and root cause analysis; disposition non-conformances and support
rework/repair
- Manage build sequence, cost, quality, and schedule across the full build
- Design material handling and packaging to protect hardware through build and test
- Design, procure, install, and integrate custom manufacturing equipment
- Interface with suppliers to ensure hardware is manufactured, packaged, and
delivered on time and on budget
- Maintain hardware configuration and pedigree through build and test
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
- 5+ years in manufacturing or production engineering
- Proven experience defining manufacturing process flows and selecting production
equipment for electromechanical hardware
- Strong GD&T, tolerance analysis, precision fits, and structural assembly
- Able to read both mechanical drawings and electrical drawings (schematics,
wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings)
- Solid CAD, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and issue-tracking skills
Nice to have
- Electric motor or rotating electrical machine manufacturing experience
- Avionics, wire harnesses, structures, propulsion, mechanical systems, thermal
systems, or environmental instrumentation
- Experience standing up new production lines or manufacturing cells
- Aerospace, defense, or high-performance hardware development
- Able to obtain a DBIDS or NASA badge
Benefits & conditions
Pay: $64.00 - $64.55 per hour
