Design Engineer

We are seeking a Design Engineer to support the design and development of industrial rack systems and related mechanical components used within data center environments. This role involves creating 2D and 3D engineering drawings, supporting BIM coordination, and developing fabrication and installation documentation.

The Design Engineer will work with customer requirements, engineering specifications, and project teams to develop practical designs that can be manufactured and installed in the field. The role will also support the resolution of design, fabrication, and installation issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop 2D and 3D engineering drawings for data center rack systems and related mechanical components using AutoCAD and Revit
• Develop fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings for manufacturing and field teams
• Review customer drawings, engineering specifications, and project requirements to ensure designs meet project needs
• Support BIM coordination and incorporate project-specific requirements into engineering designs
• Coordinate with project teams, customers, manufacturing personnel, and installation teams to resolve design and field issues
• Maintain and revise engineering drawings and documentation as projects progress
• Support product improvements by identifying recurring design, fabrication, and installation issues
• Communicate technical information clearly across internal, external, and international teams
• Communicate with Chinese-speaking partners; Chinese language skills are valued but not required
• Work primarily remote, with sporadic travel when required

• Proficiency in 2D drafting and 3D modeling using AutoCAD and Revit
• Engineering background in mechanical, structural, architectural, manufacturing, or a related discipline preferred
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, dimensions, and technical documentation
• Understanding of how engineering designs translate into fabrication, assembly, and field installation
• Strong analytical, spatial, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify design conflicts, missing information, and potential installation issues
• Comfortable working independently and coordinating across multiple project teams
• Able to handle ambiguity and changing requirements without constant direction
• Proactive in identifying issues, asking targeted questions, and driving resolution
• Strong attention to detail

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
