Job description

Century Control Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Controls System Integration Manager to lead our systems integration team in delivering high-quality industrial automation and control system solutions. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, implementation, commissioning, and support of complex automation projects while managing engineering resources, client relationships, project execution, and technical standards. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in industrial automation with proven leadership, project management, and customer service skills. This position requires collaboration across engineering, project management, field services, and executive leadership to ensure successful project delivery and continued business growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of control systems engineers, programmers, and field service technicians.
  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of control system integration projects, from proposal and design through commissioning and customer support.
  • Develop project schedules, assign engineering resources, and monitor project progress to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Review customer specifications, control narratives, P&IDs, and engineering documentation to develop effective automation solutions.
  • Direct the design, programming, testing, and implementation of PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial network systems.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Conduct project reviews, risk assessments, and technical design reviews to ensure engineering quality and compliance.
  • Support business development by assisting with project estimates, proposals, technical presentations, and customer consultations.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, programming templates, documentation procedures, and quality assurance processes.
  • Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), startup, and commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical mentoring, coaching, and professional development for engineering staff.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, client requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase engineering efficiency, project consistency, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 8-15 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or systems integration.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership or engineering management experience.
  • Strong experience managing multidisciplinary automation projects.
  • Expert knowledge of PLC programming platforms including Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation), Siemens, Schneider Electric, Omron, or Mitsubishi.
  • Extensive experience with HMI and SCADA platforms such as FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Wonderware, WinCC, or AVEVA.
  • Strong understanding of industrial networking technologies including Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet, OPC UA, MQTT, and related communication protocols.
  • Experience with instrumentation, process control, electrical control panel design, and motor control systems.
  • Strong project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as needed for project meetings, commissioning, and support., * Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Experience in water and wastewater, manufacturing, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, chemical processing, oil and gas, or energy industries.
  • Familiarity with ISA standards, NFPA 70/79, UL 508A, and industrial cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience with MES, IIoT, cloud-connected automation platforms, and data integration technologies.
