Job description

Are you interested in created cloud-based solutions to meet our customers’ challenging missions? We are seeking an AWS Admin/Full Stack Developer motivated by variety, is seeking a challenging environment for professional growth, and is interested in supporting a dynamic program for one of our national security clients. The AWS Admin/Full Stack Developer will design, develop, deploy and support technical solutions in a collaborative team environment. This position requires an experienced, self-motivating individual capable of performing in a fast-paced development environment, as well as interacting effectively with key customers and users. The Admin/Developer should have strong systems, software, cloud, and Agile experience to support a program developing a variety of tools to push out to users or help create efficient business operations. Our Admin/Developer will participate in and/or direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing.

Primary Duties & Areas of Responsibility:

  • Develop and integrate custom developed software solutions hosted on a cloud-based platform.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and manage the client’s cloud infrastructure, services, and security applications to ensure the environment is scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-effective. Work with various cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and others, and focus on day-to-day operations of the environment, handling tasks such as provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing cloud resources and systems.
  • Manage, maintain, optimize and deploy the client’s cloud infrastructure. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and secure operation of cloud-based services, with a focus on performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Manage cloud resources, troubleshoot issues, and ensure best practices are followed to maintain a high level of availability and reliability.
  • Possess a deep understanding and knowledge of various cloud technologies, systems, and platforms (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, etc.) with an understanding of cloud infrastructure management technologies (e.g. CloudFormation, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.).
  • Produce a detailed functional design document to match customer requirements.
  • Collaborate to determine the most appropriate technical strategy and designs to meet business needs.
  • Provide current best practice and 3rd Party solution alternatives as part of the functional design document.
  • Design workflows and assignment rules to automate manual processes.
  • Create and maintain system-related documentation, such as business requirements, process flows, data maps, configuration worksheets, etc.
  • Monitor networking requirements and costs to manage customer’s needs.
  • Collaborate with customer’s Security team to meet all security requirements.
  • Present to customer architectural plans and work with stakeholders to handle projections and changes as needed.
  • Participate in software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement, using Java, JavaScript, Python, SpringBoot, and Hibernate.
  • Leverage tools like JIRA and Confluence to track activities.
  • Apply and identify best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Create innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customers.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and have an active TS/SCI with Poly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • Current AWS certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing core AWS services:
  • EC2, ECS/EKG for compute resources
  • S3, EBS, EFS for storage solutions
  • VPC configuration, security groups, and network architecture
  • IAM for access management and security policies
  • RDS, DynamoDB, or other AWS database services
  • CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform for infrastructure as code
  • CloudWatch for monitoring and alerting
  • AWS Cost Management tools
  • Demonstrated working experience in the AWS cloud as a systems administrator conducting set-up, development, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience using JavaScript, Python, and JAVA languages and data formats like JSON and YAML.
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
  • Backend development using Node.js, Python, or similar.
  • RESTful API and GraphQL development experience.
  • Database design and implementation (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Containerization knowledge (Docker).
  • CI/CD pipeline implementation (AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions).
  • Serverless architecture experience (AWS Lambda, API Gateway).
  • Direct experience utilizing software testing performance tools.
  • Ability to maintain infrastructure using IaC best practices.
  • Support integration with third-party tools and custom developed tools as needed.
  • Strong requirements and design documentation skills are a must.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and oral communication with the ability to communicate with team members, management, and customers.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into solution designs.
  • Ability to ask the right questions to define a solution.
  • Proficient with common Agile practices, service-orientated environments, and development practices.
  • Experience using issue/problem tracking systems., * Ability to script in one more of the following computer languages Bash, Visual Basic or PowerShell.
  • Deep working knowledge of public cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) and services (compute, networking, storage, databases).
  • Experience with cloud monitoring tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Datadog) and cost optimization strategies.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security practices, IAM, encryption, VPNs, firewalls, and security tools.
  • Proficiency in networking concepts and configurations, such as VPCs, subnets, VPNs, DNS, load balancers, and security groups.
  • Expert experience and ability to immediately contribute to Automation Tasks and Infrastructure-as-Code tools and templates.
