Job description

The Business Systems and Technical Excellence Manager is a strategic leader responsible for driving the organization’s business intelligence, enterprise reporting, financial operations, and business systems strategy. This role leads the development of scalable data solutions, ensures enterprise data integrity and governance, assesses alignment and integration to key performance indicators, and oversees financial processes including expense management, occupancy billing, contract administration, and reporting.

The Manager serves as the bridge between leadership, our customers and business partners; leveraging data, systems, and analytics to improve operational performance, support executive decision-making, and enabling organizational growth. This leader is expected to be a subject matter expert in business intelligence, data governance, reporting strategy, and enterprise systems management while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision making., * Business Intelligence & Analytics

  • Develop and execute the organization’s business intelligence and analytics strategy.
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of executive dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, and enterprise reporting.
  • Transform complex data into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Establish reporting standards, governance, and self-service analytics capabilities.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify trends, risks, and opportunities through advanced analytics.
  • Business Systems Leadership
  • Oversee the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of business systems and enterprise applications.
  • Lead system implementation projects, upgrades, integrations, and process automation initiatives.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to define system requirements and prioritize enhancements.
  • Ensure systems effectively support business objectives while maximizing user adoption and operational efficiency.
  • Oversees team responsible for management of system documentation, testing, change management, and user training.
  • Data Management & Governance
  • Establish enterprise data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, consistency, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop data management frameworks that support trusted enterprise reporting.
  • Define data ownership, stewardship, and governance responsibilities across the organization.
  • Champion master data management and enterprise data standards.
  • Financial Operations
  • Lead departmental financial expense operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Partner with Finance and budget owners to review spend performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve financial forecasting.
  • Oversee enterprise contracts, vendor agreements, renewals, and financial obligations in partnership with Procurement and process owners.
  • Manage the occupancy process for data management and reporting ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Strategic Planning & Operational Excellence
  • Develop key performance indicators and operational metrics that measure organizational performance and service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to automate workflows and eliminate manual processes.
  • Support strategic planning through data analysis, forecasting, and business modeling.
  • Present recommendations and executive-level reporting to senior leadership.
  • Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of analysts, business systems professionals, and financial operations staff.
  • Responsible for recruitment and onboarding of new personnel.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and foster accountability.
  • Promote innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships across Finance, IT, Operations, customers and executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, facilities management, or a related discipline and eleven or more years of progressive professional experience in facilities management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Requires a minimum of five years of formal leadership experience in managing teams, programs, or complex operational functions.
  • Desired systems expertise in business intelligence platforms (Power BI), Microsoft 365 tools, ServiceNow, and SAP.
  • Must demonstrate extensive capability in strategic thinking; executive communication and presentations; cross-functional collaboration; change management; data-driven decision-making; team development and coaching; continuous improvement; and maintaining a strong customer and stakeholder focus.
  • Must be able to organize, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet established milestones.
  • Must be customer focused with strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills, including the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex business and technical issues while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees at all levels and effectively engage senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to lead, select, develop, and motivate technical and business systems teams, and effectively represent the company on key internal and external initiatives.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and requires occasional travel to the High Desert.
