Job description
InnoVet Health is a growing small business that provides Health IT professional services to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). We are seeking an experienced QA/UAT Tester with a minimum of 5 years of experience supporting software quality assurance and user acceptance testing in an Agile environment. This role will work closely with VA business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and project teams to validate application functionality, ensure business requirements are met, and support the successful migration of VA systems to the cloud.
The QA/UAT Tester will develop and execute test scenarios, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), document defects, and ensure applications meet functional and business requirements before deployment., * Serve as the primary QA/UAT resource supporting application enhancements, system implementations, and cloud migration initiatives.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, Product Owners, Business Analysts, developers, and project teams to understand functional and business requirements.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts based on business and functional requirements.
- Coordinate and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including scheduling, test execution, issue tracking, and stakeholder communications.
- Execute functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing to validate application functionality.
- Validate system enhancements, bug fixes, and configuration changes prior to production deployment.
- Document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution using Jira or other defect management tools.
- Verify defect fixes and perform regression testing to ensure no unintended impacts.
- Maintain testing documentation, test evidence, traceability matrices, and test execution reports.
- Partner with project teams to support multiple implementation waves and production releases.
- Identify risks, issues, and lessons learned while providing regular status updates to project leadership and VA stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support post-deployment validation and production verification activities to ensure successful implementations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or another technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing.
- Experience developing test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test execution documentation.
- Experience coordinating and facilitating User Acceptance Testing with business stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience with defect lifecycle management and issue tracking.
- Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, ALM, or similar application lifecycle management tools.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Experience supporting healthcare IT, government, or enterprise software implementations preferred., * Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other federal healthcare organizations.
- Experience testing cloud-based applications (AWS or GovCloud preferred).
- Familiarity with interface validation and data verification.
- Experience working within SAFe or Agile Scrum environments.
- ISTQB, CSTE, or other QA certification is a plus.
- Consulting experience is a plus.
