A Day in the Life

The Peripheral Vascular Health Operating Unit is dedicated to the treatment of peripheral arterial and venous diseases. We offer our physician customers a comprehensive suite of products and therapies to treat varying degrees of vascular disease - disorders of the circulatory system outside of the brain and heart.

In this exciting role as a Senior Reliability Engineer supporting the Post Market Quality organization, you will provide technical leadership across all quality aspects of the commercial portfolio, including Health Risk Assessments, Post Market Surveillance, and Risk Management. You will serve as a key partner to cross functional teams, guiding critical quality decisions that protect patients and ensure sustained product performance

U.S. Candidates: This role offers a flexible work style that may include a combination of onsite and remote work. Please note that flexible arrangements are not guaranteed for all positions and may change over time based on business needs and facility space. Future adjustments could include transitioning to full-time onsite.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Risk Management: Support risk assessments and hazard analyses based on post-market data; Lead Health Risk Assessments todeterminepotential risk and recommendneedfor Field Corrective Action (FCA)
  • Post-Market Surveillance: Monitor product performance in the field, collect and analyze reliability data, andidentifytrends and potential issues
  • Root Cause Investigation and Failure Analysis: Lead investigations into product failures and complaints,utilizingroot cause analysis techniques todetermineunderlying causes; Support complaint trending and investigations of complaint trend excursions or quality signals from the field
  • Design Control: Assess design and risk impacts of changes; generate, review, and approve FMEAs, test method validations, and verification and validation test reports in compliance with medical device design control requirements
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to implement design, process or supplier changes, corrective and preventive actions that enhance product reliability
  • Customer Interaction: Provide technical support to customers and field personnelregardingreliability issues and product performance
  • Coaching: Provide technical mentorship and coaching to junior engineers

Requirements

  • Prior experience in the medical device industry across product development, operations, or quality functions
  • Demonstratedexpertisein risk managementin accordance withISO 14971
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to lead root cause investigations, solve complex technical problems, and perform statistical data analysis

Requirements:

  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering,Mathor a related technical discipline with a minimum of4years of relevant experience

OR

  • Advanceddegree with a minimum of2years relevant experience

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$107,200.00 - $160,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
