Principal Platform Engineer

• Strategic Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor, shaping platform strategy and technical direction for customers.
• Enterprise-Scale Solutions: Lead the design and execution of highly complex, large-scale platforms.
• Hands-on Expertise: While primarily strategic, maintain deep technical knowledge and the ability to step in when needed.
• Infrastructure as Code: Contribute to architecture decisions and review Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar configurations.
• Thought Leadership: Represent SQUER at conferences, industry events, and within the cloud-native community.
• Project Delivery: Oversee project execution, ensuring alignment with customer objectives and technical excellence.
• C-Level Engagement: Consult and present platform strategies to executive leadership.
• Business Development: Build strong customer relationships, drive platform strategy discussions, and explore new opportunities.

• Consulting Excellence: Extensive experience in platform engineering, DevOps and cloud consulting - with a strong ability to advise clients strategically and technically.
• Strategical & Technical Leadership: Proven ability to lead technical decision-making, guide architecture discussions, and align engineering direction with business goals.
• Enterprise Architecture: Deep knowledge of designing and implementing large-scale, resilient platform solutions.
• Infrastructure & Automation: Strong hands-on technical foundation in platform automation, cloud security, and observability.
• Leadership & Influence: Ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive innovation, and shape strategic technology decisions.
• Public Speaking & Thought Leadership: Confident in delivering keynotes, presentations, and engaging with the industry.
• Business & Technical Alignment: Ability to bridge the gap between technical solutions and business objectives.
• AI-native: You actively use AI-powered tools (e.g., code assistants, LLM-based workflows) to amplify your productivity and quality, or you’re eager to start.
• Communication: Ability to break down complex topics and explain them in a way that makes sense to both engineers and customers.
• Languages: Fluent in English and German

We believe in transparent and fair compensation. For this role, the annual gross salary ranges between € 95.000 and € 105.000 - the exact placement depends on the seniority level we assess together during the process.About us
