Job description

The University of Aberdeen is seeking to appoint an innovative and inspiring individual to be our Director of Digital and Information Services. Joining at a pivotal moment for the institution, you will help drive the development and delivery of an ambitious digital strategy to enhance the University’s technological capability, operational efficiency, user experience, and global competitiveness. You will work with colleagues across our institution to help transform the way we work. In this exciting role, you will lead services including information technology, cybersecurity, information governance, libraries, and university collections. You will ensure these services are reliable, secure, connected and designed around the needs of staff, students and other service users. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and sitting on the University Management Group, you will provide strategic direction. You will advise senior colleagues on issues relating to risk, cyber security, infrastructure resilience and emerging technologies, helping the University make bold and informed investment decisions.

Requirements

We are looking for a senior digital leader with experience of working in a complex organisation and delivering meaningful transformational change. You will bring a strong understanding of digital services, hold experience in leading large teams and budgets, and bring excellent communication skills.

Benefits & conditions

The salary for this post is in the range of £97,395 - £120,864 per annum, commensurate with experience. The candidate appointed to this post is expected to be based in the Northeast of Scotland but may be eligible for homeworking on an occasional or regular basis. Should you require a visa to undertake employment in the UK you will be required to fulfil the minimum points criteria to be granted a Certificate of Sponsorship under the requirements of the Skilled Worker visa. At the time an offer of appointment is made, you will be asked to demonstrate that you fulfil the criteria in respect of qualification and competency in English.
