Senior Software Developer

The role

As a Senior Software Developer, you help shape the brains of these systems developing software that makes our drones smarter, safer, and more capable in real-world scenarios.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Core software development:

• Design, implement, and test embedded and ground-control software for our UAV platforms.
• Write robust, efficient code using C++, Python, or Go.
• Contribute to high-level architecture and low-level performance optimisation.

System integration & testing:

• Validate new features through log analysis, simulation, and real-world testing.
• Develop and automate regression test plans to ensure code reliability.
• Collaborate with hardware and flight test teams to ensure seamless system performance.

Code quality & lifecycle management:

• Use Git for version control, branching, and code reviews.
• Follow best practices across the full software development lifecycle-from concept to deployment.
• Maintain structure and clarity in a growing and evolving codebase.

Drive innovation:

• Propose practical improvements to enhance performance, maintainability, and functionality.
• Analyse and troubleshoot issues effectively, based on both simulation and field data.
• Adapt to changing project needs and technical challenges.

• A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience as a software engineer or developer, ideally in aerospace, robotics, or embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with C++, Python, Go, or similar programming languages.
• A strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience with debugging tools, testing methodologies, and automation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
