Medior Backend Engineer

At the headquarters of the Bijenkorf, our e-commerce department, is our youngest department. A passionate and diverse group of people work together on the continuous growth and development of our digital platform. Our department handles the delivery of omni-channel projects and the support of various internal departments. Our projects include (but are not limited to) the development of our e-commerce platform, mobile applications, CMS, various content channels, multichannel applications. About the position of Backend Engineer As a Medior Backend Software Engineer, you will be part of one of our cross-functional agile development teams at the head office located in Amsterdam. We are looking for someone who has the desire to push the technical boundaries of what can be achieved within the online domain and give our visitors the best customer journey they can have. We work closely together on delivering quality and innovation to our customers and stakeholders and focus on providing individuals with the support and freedom they need to grow and encourage them to take on responsibility.

3+ years of experience in backend development, with focus on Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot - Understanding of microservices architecture , API design, and event-driven patterns - Experience with databases , caches and Message Queues/Brokers - Understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, and code quality - Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills Nice-to-have: - Experience working with e-commerce platforms or similar transactional systems - Experience with Docker, Kubernetes , and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) - A customer-oriented appr…
