Job description
The Associate Application Developer will help grow and enhance our fully custom Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and other internal applications that power our daily operations. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong fundamentals who’s excited to learn, contribute, and help scale mission-critical systems to enterprise levels.
You’ll work across the full technology stack with a strong emphasis on building software that is scalable, performant, reliable, and easy to support.
What you will do!
Application Development
- Support and enhance existing components within our FileMaker based MES such as layouts, scripts, calculations, and data relationships under guidance from senior developers
- Design, develop, and support new modern full-stack web applications across front-end, integration, and data layers
- Contribute to system architecture discussions to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Help create clean, reusable, and well-documented code components
Testing, Documentation, and Release Support
- Help establish, adhere to, and enforce development standards & practices
- Support implementation activities including launch checklists, test plans, and user training
- Follow team standards for version control and the software development life cycle
- Document application changes and technical processes
- Assist with evaluating and implementing software upgrades
Support, Collaboration, and Continuous Improvement
- Respond to user issues, reproduce problems, and implement fixes with attention to root causes
- Work closely with senior developers, IT Operations, and business stakeholders to learn operational context and understand business needs
- Identify and recommend software improvements and implement approved changes
- Continuously learn new tools, frameworks, and best practices
Requirements
Do you have experience in Version control?, * 2-5 years of professional experience in software and/or web development
- Experience with several of the following: Next.js, Tailwind, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Visual Basic, JSON, and relational databases such as MS SQL Server, Postgres, etc.
- Foundational understanding of full stack web application architecture
- Experience with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies
- Experience with REST APIs and client-server concepts
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a “fix it” mindset
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate in a team environment
- Comfortable collaborating with non-technical stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements
- Ability to adhere to all GMP’s
Nice to Have (Not Required)!
- Experience with Claris FileMaker software
- Experience learning, supporting, and extending complex legacy systems
- Exposure to database design and optimization concepts
- Experience leveraging AI within software development processes (UI, scripting, documentation, etc.)
- Exposure to manufacturing processes, MES/ERP concepts, and other operations workflows
- Interest in scalability, performance optimization, and system reliability
