Microsoft Excel Big Data Data Governance Data Mapping Data Transformation Data Migration

Job description

Your new company

A leading organisation is undertaking a significant digital transformation programme, moving from legacy property and finance systems to a new technology landscape centred around a modern finance platform and property management solution. We are seeking a Data Migration Specialist to lead the preparation, cleansing, mapping and migration of data into the new platforms, ensuring a smooth transition and high-quality data outcomes.

Your new role The successful candidate will take ownership of the end-to-end data migration process, supporting the implementation of new finance and property management systems. You will be responsible for reviewing, cleansing and transforming legacy data, ensuring it is accurately mapped and migrated into the new platforms. The role will involve managing migration templates, identifying and resolving data quality issues, and automating data preparation activities using Excel and related tools. Working closely with the Project Manager, implementation partners and key business stakeholders, you will validate migrated data, support testing activities, document migration processes and contribute recommendations for ongoing data governance and best practice. This is a hands-on role requiring strong data migration, data mapping and stakeholder management experience, ideally gained within a transformation or systems implementation environment.

What you’ll need to succeed This role would suit a hands-on Data Migration Consultant who enjoys working closely with stakeholders, solving data quality challenges, and ensuring successful business-critical migrations within a wider transformation programme. There is potential for the role to evolve into a broader transformation-focused position beyond the initial migration phase.

  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end data migration projects.
  • Strong data transformation and data mapping expertise.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including automation and manipulation of large datasets.
  • Experience cleansing and improving data quality.
  • Ability to understand complex business data structures and relationships.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Previous experience supporting ERP, finance or property system implementations would be highly desirable.

What you’ll get in return

Alongside the opportunity to play a key role in a business-critical digital transformation programme, you’ll be working in a beautiful Gloucestershire setting with stunning surroundings and a welcoming team environment. This is a highly visible project where you’ll have the autonomy to shape the data migration approach, work closely with senior stakeholders, and potentially extend your involvement into wider transformation initiatives beyond the initial contract. The role offers a mix of hands-on delivery, stakeholder engagement, and the chance to leave a lasting impact on the organisation’s future technology landscape.
