This is a fixed hybrid role on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at HQ in Maple Plain MN

The Analytics Engineer supports the delivery of reliable, business-ready data by bridging business knowledge with analytics and data transformation work. This role partners closely with business, analytics, and technical teams to understand how data is used, clarify logic and metrics, and translate those requirements into accurate, SQL-based data transformations.

The Analytics Engineer plays a key role in modernizing the analytics stack by helping migrate existing ETL logic and reporting workflows into a scalable, maintainable data platform. Working alongside senior Analytics Engineers, this role contributes strong business context, solid SQL skills, and a practical approach to ensure data outputs align with real business needs. This position offers meaningful opportunities for growth, emphasizing curiosity, clear communication, and continuous learning within modern analytics tooling., * Build a strong understanding of business processes, data flows, and key metrics to analytics outputs align with real business needs

  • Partner closely with business teams and analytics stakeholders to clarify requirements, definitions, and reporting logic
  • Support the translation of existing DOMO ETL pipelines and business logic into SQL based transformations on the modern data platform
  • Write, maintain, and improve SQL transformations with a focus on correctness, clarity, and alignment with business intent
  • Validate data outputs by comparing results against existing reports, source systems, and stakeholder expectations
  • Collaborate with senior Analytics Engineers to learn and adopt modern analytics engineering practices and tooling
  • Actively learn and ramp up on the modern data stack (including dbt and related tools), demonstrating curiosity and a fast-learning curve
  • Communicate effectively with analytics, technical teams, and business consumers to ensure data solutions meet real business needs

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, * Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical field (such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data, Economics, or a related discipline), or equivalent practical experience, with demonstrated exposure to business or analytics contexts

  • Minimum of 2 years of practical experience working with SQL and contributing to analytics or ETL workflows in a real world production or reporting environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Good working knowledge of SQL, with the ability to read, write, and maintain moderately complex queries.
  • Experience working with ETL pipelines or analytics workflows, including legacy or BI tool driven transformations (e.g., DOMO).
  • Strong understanding of business processes and how they translate into metrics, reports, and analytics requirements.
  • Ability to validate data by comparing results to source systems, existing reports, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills, with attention to detail when working with business logic and data transformations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with analytics, technical teams, and business consumers.
  • Curiosity and motivation to learn, with a demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly on new tools and technologies., * Exposure to dbt or other SQL based data transformation tools.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and analytics workflows.
  • Experience using BI tools and understanding how business users consume data.
  • Basic familiarity with Git or version controlled workflows., While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
