Job description

  • Data automation: standardization and automation of data processes
  • Collaborate with the Evaluation team to develop reports used for monitoring Population Health managed care programs.
  • Quality checks and data cleaning: clean large datasets and identify potential quality issues affecting validity, review and provide feedback on reports and data submitted by managed care plans.
  • Analysis: compile data from various sources into tidy datasets, run analytical queries using prepared datasets and present findings through carts/graphs/other visualizations.
  • Data warehouse queries: support evaluators with development of queries and data requests in NC Medicaid data warehouse.
  • Ad hoc data requests: respond to ad hoc questions concerning population health policies and programs from other stakeholders (legislature, population health, evaluation, other business leads).

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, * SAS or other tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI

  • Tableau
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Interpreting complex or large datasets to identify and communicate trends.
  • Experience in data integration and interoperability
  • Data management and quality assurance/improvement

Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree from appropriately accredited institution in a discipline related to the area of assignment with three years of programmatic experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Manager’s Preferences:

  • Master’s degree in related discipline (e.g. public health, population health, statistics, public administration).
  • Familiarity with Medicaid and health care and associated rules, regulations and standards
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the calculation and analysis of population health delivery models, care delivery models, care management models, clinical program innovations, and system redesign.
  • Experience interpreting and responding to federal monitoring requirements and large system pilot projects/initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills.
