Job description

Q Care are recruiting an IT Technician to join their head office team based in Abergavenny, travel will be required throughout Wales as and when required.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Setup & Support of Android mobiles using MDM software.
  • Respond to IT support tickets and user requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, networking, and mobile device issues.
  • Provide support via telephone, email, remote access, and face-to-face.
  • Assist with user account administration and permissions management.
  • Support Microsoft 365 and business applications.
  • Assist with system backups, data recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Help maintain the company intranet, internet services, and communications systems.
  • Assist with new office setups, including network cabling and workstation deployment.
  • Support IT security initiatives and best practices.
  • Produce reports and documentation as required.
  • Assist with training staff on IT systems and software.
  • Emergency out of hours cover.
  • Carry out other duties as reasonably required by the IT Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an IT Support, Service Desk, or 2nd Line Support role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience supporting Active Directory users, groups, permissions, and Group Policy.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Entra ID (Azure AD), and device management.
  • Experience supporting Exchange Online, Outlook, and shared mailboxes.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
  • Experience diagnosing hardware faults on desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve escalated support tickets with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong documentation and time management skills.

Training must be undertaken on site or with external providers as deemed appropriate by the IT Manager.

Full UK driving licence will be required for this position.
