Job description

Paramint is supporting an NYC-based government agency on a Business Intelligence & Reporting (BIR) initiative focused on operational reporting, data quality, analytics modernization, and executive dashboards across youth programs., We’re looking for a senior BI Architect who can provide technical leadership and architectural direction for a fast-moving public-sector analytics engagement. This role is ideal for someone who understands how to design scalable BI/reporting ecosystems while also being pragmatic enough to operate in real-world government environments with evolving requirements, legacy data challenges, and high stakeholder visibility.

This is a restart engagement following a funding pause, so we need someone who can ramp quickly, stabilize architecture decisions, and help guide reporting and data integration efforts with minimal oversight.

This engagement is currently approved for an initial one-month term and may be extended depending on project funding and agency direction.

  • Lead BI and reporting architecture decisions across dashboards, reporting pipelines, and analytics workflows
  • Design scalable and maintainable reporting/data models for executive and operational reporting
  • Define standards and best practices for Power BI development, data integration, and reporting governance
  • Support architecture planning across Azure/AWS data environments and multiple source systems
  • Work closely with BI engineers, agency IT staff, and stakeholders to align technical implementation with business goals
  • Review and improve existing reporting structures, data flows, and dashboard performance
  • Help establish scalable processes for data validation, quality assurance, and reporting consistency
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings, working sessions, and architecture discussions
  • Clearly communicate risks, blockers, dependencies, and technical recommendations

Requirements

Do you have experience in Stakeholder management?, * 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Architecture, Analytics Engineering, or Enterprise Reporting

  • Strong architecture-level experience with Power BI and enterprise BI ecosystems
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, semantic layers, and reporting architecture
  • Strong SQL skills (complex querying, optimization, debugging)
  • Experience designing and supporting ETL / ELT pipelines and enterprise data workflows
  • Experience with Azure or AWS-based data platforms
  • Experience working with messy, real-world operational data across multiple systems
  • Prior experience with government, public sector, or regulated enterprise environments
  • Strong stakeholder communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to operate independently and provide technical leadership with minimal oversight
  • Authorized to work in the U.S (No sponsorships / W-2 only)

Nice to Have (Strong Pluses)

  • NYC agency experience (DYCD, DOE, HRA, MOCS, etc.)
  • Experience with data governance, KPI frameworks, or executive reporting strategy
  • Familiarity with Retool, Tableau, Looker, or similar analytics platforms
  • Experience mentoring BI developers or leading analytics teams
  • Experience supporting compliance, fiscal, performance, or equity reporting initiatives
  • Comfort communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
