Job description

We’re looking for an Azure Platform Engineer to join a growing Managed Services team supporting secure, business-critical Azure environments for public-sector and regulated organisations.

This role would suit someone with a strong foundation in commercially supporting Azure environments for clients, who is ready to broaden their skills across platform operations, networking, security and automation.

You’ll take ownership of day-to-day incidents and operational activities, collaborating with senior engineers on complex issues., * Provide L2 and initial L3 support across production Azure environments.

  • Investigate incidents, service requests and platform alerts through to resolution or escalation.
  • Monitor platform health using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, KQL and automated alerting.
  • Support Azure infrastructure and platform services, including virtual machines, storage, App Service, Functions and Azure SQL.
  • Troubleshoot networking, connectivity, identity and access issues.
  • Support Azure DevOps pipelines and Infrastructure as Code deployments.
  • Help maintain security and governance controls, including RBAC, Azure Policy, Key Vault and Defender for Cloud.
  • Improve monitoring, automation, documentation and operational processes.
  • Participate in the paid on-call rota once fully trained.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years commercial experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of core Azure infrastructure and platform services.
  • Experience troubleshooting incidents using monitoring and logging tools.
  • A practical understanding of Azure networking, Entra ID and RBAC.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD or release processes.
  • Exposure to Bicep, ARM templates or Terraform.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Eligibility to obtain UK Government SC clearance.

You don’t need to meet every requirement. We’re particularly interested in candidates with solid Azure fundamentals and the ambition to develop into a well-rounded platform engineer.
