Job description

  • As a Back-End Developer, you develop and maintain Java applications for the Supply Chain landscape. You write clean code, build integrations, translate requirements into solutions, and work according to Agile and DevOps principles.
  • By building reliable and scalable back-end systems, you ensure that Jumbo’s supply chain runs smoothly. This guarantees timely deliveries and an optimal shopping experience for our customers.
  • You work in a Scrum team with a Product Owner, three developers, and a test coordinator. Together, you develop solutions for the Supply Chain landscape and continuously improve processes and products.
  • You collaborate with business consultants and IT consultants. Together, you align technical changes, validate integrations, and ensure that solutions meet the needs of Jumbo and its partners., As a Back-End Developer, you play a key role in further developing and improving our Supply Chain landscape. You’ll work with a wide range of technologies and integrations that connect our partners and applications. On a daily basis, you’ll write maintainable, clean Java code that is continuously tested and deployed through pipelines into our Kubernetes environments.

You gather functional and technical requirements and translate them into solid solution designs. With a consultancy mindset, you proactively identify opportunities to improve products and processes, while closely collaborating with the business and stakeholders. You’ll work with multiple cloud technologies and be part of an Agile development team operating according to Scrum principles. Within the team, you also coach colleagues through code reviews and active knowledge sharing.

The principle you build it, you run it, you own it is central: you’re not only responsible for building, but also for running, maintaining, and supporting the products in your team’s portfolio.

At Jumbo, every day is different. We move quickly and constantly look for ways to do things better, for our customers and our colleagues. You’re encouraged to spot opportunities and take initiative. You’ll work in an informal atmosphere with room for humor and fun, where collaboration with a smile is part of our DNA.

Your team will consist of at least a Product Owner, three developers, and a test coordinator, supported by Business Consultants from the core systems. As a Back-End Developer, you’ll be part of the Channel & Support department. Profile
