Software Engineer

Our client continues to build and expand its software development capabilities as a core part of its digitally controlled welding equipment, processes, and systems. They are seeking a passionate Embedded Software Engineer to support new product development efforts and help improve customer experience and product performance., * Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and document embedded software for both new and existing products

• Develop efficient, reliable, and maintainable C/C++ code for hardware control, algorithms, and real-time system operations
• Support embedded controls integration to optimize product and welding performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, power electronics, welding engineering, project management, and product management
• Assist with new product development initiatives from concept through implementation and support
• Stay current with emerging technologies, software tools, and embedded systems best practices
• Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to software development methodology enhancements
• Manage priorities, timelines, and deliverables while communicating project progress and challenges effectively

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on embedded software experience and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment., * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

• Minimum of 1+ years of embedded software development experience
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and debugging embedded software systems
• Strong experience with:
• Object-oriented programming in C/C++
• Embedded systems development
• Embedded memory management
• Microcontroller peripherals and communication interfaces
• Real-time task management and interrupt service routines
• Understanding of software development best practices including version control, code reviews, and testing frameworks
• Experience using debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other hardware/software diagnostic tools
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, * Experience with embedded controls such as PID control loops, motor controls, digital filters, and state machines
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Experience with embedded operating systems such as Linux or FreeRTOS
• Familiarity with wireless systems including WiFi and Bluetooth
• Experience with communication protocols such as ModBus, Ethernet, and EIA-422/485
• Understanding of electronic circuits, schematics, and board-level design
• Familiarity with continuous integration tools such as Azure DevOps
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments, * Bachelor’s (Required), * Embedded software: 1 year (Required)
