Job description
We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer for our South Yorkshire based client. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of infrastructure design, implementation, and management. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and efficiency of our systems, helping us deliver exceptional service to our clients. This is a hybrid role with a minimum of two days per week expected on site and will be ideally suited to candidates who can easily commute around South Yorkshire., * Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and infrastructure changes.
- Automate routine tasks using Scripting and configuration management tools.
- Manage backups, disaster recovery, and security of infrastructure systems.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance infrastructure capabilities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders.
- Document infrastructure processes, configurations, and changes for compliance and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
Essential
- Degree or equivalent occupational/professional qualification or experience
- Technical Qualifications such as MCSE, MCP or A+ Certification
Desirable
- Cyber Security Qualification
- Network certification such as CCNA or equivalent
- ITIL Foundation
- ITIL Intermediate Level or above
- Prince2
- Customer Services qualification or equivalent experience
- SDI Foundation
- European Computer Driving License (ECDL) or equivalent
Knowledge:
- Customer Services Skills
- Service Desk Tools and Technologies
- Cyber Security Standards and Frameworks
- Server and Desktop operating systems
- Desktop/office applications
- Computer and peripheral devices
- Data network protocols and technologies (eg TCP/IP & SNMP)
- IP Telecommunications systems
- Server operating systems including Microsoft Server and/or Linux
