Job description

As a Senior Lecturer, you will bring your expertise and passion for education to create engaging learning experiences that prepare students for successful careers in the ever-evolving technology and creative industries., * Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, and practical workshops in game development, software engineering, or related subjects.

  • Design and develop innovative curriculum content aligned with current industry standards and emerging technologies.
  • Support and mentor students to achieve their academic and career goals, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Engage with industry partners to facilitate guest lectures, live projects, and work placement opportunities.
  • Contribute to course and programme development, ensuring compliance with academic regulations and quality assurance standards.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and support accreditation processes.
  • Supervise final year projects and dissertations, providing guidance on research and development techniques.
  • Stay current with technological advancements and pedagogical best practices through professional development.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Significant professional experience in the game or software development industry, preferably with a strong portfolio or demonstrable projects.
  • Previous teaching or lecturing experience in further or higher education is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and engage diverse student groups.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with relevant programming languages, game engines (such as Unity or Unreal Engine), and software development tools.
