Confluence JIRA Raw Data Simulation Software Software Systems System Testing

Job description

As our System Validation Engineer, you ensure our integrated electrical and mechanical systems handle the harshest environments. You bridge the gap between design and physical reality by configuring hardware, instrumenting tests, and troubleshooting system failures. Working closely with R&D Engineering, Operations, and external test labs, you report to the System Validation & Validation Team Lead. Your work gives our customers complete confidence when our radars deploy to critical sites., * Hardware readiness and instrumentation: Prepare the Device Under Test from mechanical assembly to electrical configuration. Instrument systems with sensors to validate technical specifications before laboratory dispatch.

  • Test plan creation and execution: Design and execute rigorous test plans aligned with product specifications. Apply international standards like MIL-STD-810, NATO STANAG, and CE.
  • Root-cause analysis and data translation: Investigate mechanical failures and electrical degradation during test campaigns. Translate complex sensor data into clear, actionable feedback for R&D design teams.
  • External lab coordination: Serve as the main technical contact for external test laboratories. Provide labs with precise instructions and parameters, then evaluate raw data to write final conclusions.
  • Traceability and reporting: Consolidate raw data and test logs into formal engineering reports. Maintain 100% traceability back to original product requirements., * 30 days of paid holiday leave (with the possibility to buy 3 additional days);
  • Opportunities to develop your skills even further through training and certifications;
  • High quality laptop/desktop, monitor, headphones, and any other equipment necessary for your role;
  • An international team of 30+ nationalities, full of high performance colleagues you can exchange experiences with and learn from. As well as having a lot of fun in our social events and Friday drinks!

Robin Radar is a technology leader in tracking and classifying small objects[cite: 1, 2]. Our radars and software help prevent bird strikes in aviation, reduce the impact of wind farms on wildlife, and protect critical infrastructure from drone threats. Our work shows up at airports, wind farms, military sites and nature reserves around the world.

We’re one of the top 10 fastest-growing companies in the Netherlands, with a crew of bright minds across 30+ nationalities. Growth doesn’t mean we lose the plot - eyes on the skies, feet on the ground. Our values keep us grounded: WE TRUST. WE OWN IT. WE AIM HIGH.

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanics or Electromechanics
  • 3+ years in validation and validation or test engineering for integrated hardware-software systems
  • Proven ability to apply MIL-STD-810, NATO STANAG, and CE standards
  • Experience managing thermal, vibration, shock, and EMC test campaigns at external facilities
  • Hands-on assembly, instrumentation, and root-cause analysis skills for hardware failures
  • Proficiency with industry-standard traceability tools such as Jira or Confluence
  • Experience using FEA or thermal simulation software to predict hardware stress
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written
  • Calm under pressure with strong, solution-oriented communication skills

N.B. Don’t worry if you don’t tick every box. Our mission is a journey, and there’s plenty to learn along the way. If most of this fits, we’d love to hear from you.

A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and a background check are part of our screening process. We appreciate your understanding.
