Job description

ING Bank NL is looking for an experiencedand forward-thinkingEnterprise Architect (Data & Analytics). The Centre of Expertise (CoE) Architecture in Amsterdam is a dynamic environment for architects who are able to translate ING’s strategy and vision into coherent enterprise architectures and guide strategy execution across the bank.

Our ambition is to design and evolve thedata, analytics and AI capabilitiesthat power thedata-drivenbank of tomorrow. In this role, you will influence business and technology strategy, ensuring secure, scalable and compliant platforms that enable ING to deliver excellent services to its customers.

Your role & work environment

As an Enterprise Architect within CoE Architecture, you operate at the intersection of business, IT and engineering. You work in a small team of senior enterprise architects and collaborate closely with domain and solution architects across ING NL and the wider ING Group. Together, you provide direction, coherence and architectural leadership across multiple domains.

You will work closely witha broadrange ofbusiness leaders, product owners, engineers and IT management. You are supported by a Chapter Lead for your professional development., As Enterprise Architect (Data & Analytics), you will:

  • Translate business and technology strategy intoclear target architectures, principles and models for data, analytics and AI.

  • Execute and steer theglobal Business & IT roadmap process, including centralised designs and logical global decompositions.

  • Design and evolve ING’sdata & analytics platform, enabling federated usage by domains while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and architectural guardrails.

  • Manage the complexityof delivering data, analytics and AI capabilities at scale, balancing global consistency with domain autonomy (e.g. data mesh and federated ownership models).

  • Collaborate with and coordinate domain and solution architects to deliverintegrated, end-to-end business services.

  • Maintain strong relationshipswith area leads, product owners and engineers, influencing priorities and architectural direction.

  • Proactively identify and initiate architectural improvements, enabling the architecture function to steer early and ensure solutions arefit for purpose, secure and cost-effective.

You are likely to be successful in this role if you bring:

  • A Master’s degree (or equivalent) and5+ years of experiencein enterprise architecture, preferably in data & analytics-heavy environments.

  • Proven experience withlarge-scale data and analytics platformson-premise and in public cloud(preferably with GCP).

  • Strong affinity withdata architecture, data governance (e.g.DMBoK), analytics and (Agentic) AI.

  • A solid understanding of working in aregulated environment, where security, privacy and compliance (e.g. GDPR, AI Act, DORA & BCBS239) shape architectural decisions.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to align and influence across large, diverse and global stakeholder groups, including senior management.

  • Experience working in a multinational, agile organisation, with appreciation for different perspectives, cultures and ways of working.

  • A professional,reflective mindset, with awareness of personal solution biases and the ability to drive broadly supported architectural decisions.
