Job description

This role is responsible for building and maintaining end-to-end Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models in a hands-on capacity, while writing and optimizing SQL queries to support reporting and analytics needs. The individual will support over 300 business users, delivering reports and enhancements, and partnering closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions. They will own a consistent pipeline of work, including developing new reports, executing enhancements and regression updates, and performing data validation and QA to ensure accuracy. Additionally, this person will contribute to ongoing Microsoft Fabric migration efforts, ensure data quality, integrity, and performance optimization across all reporting, and maintain clear documentation for data models, logic, and processes (approximately 10% of the role). Collaboration with backend and data engineering teams is key, along with the ability to independently understand and navigate underlying data architecture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with: o Power BI (advanced: DAX, data modeling, performance tuning, dashboard design) o SQL (querying, data manipulation, backend understanding)

  • 1+ years experience with Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience with hands on development
  • Experience working with data models, relationships, and business logic layers
  • Understanding of data preservation, governance, and structure
  • Experience supporting large user groups (200-300+ users)
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proven attention to detail and QA mindset (focus on accuracy and completeness)
  • Strong communication and ability to present insights

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • Background in Software Engineering (SWE * Data transition)
  • Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms
