Sub Chapter Lead Software Development

• Drive strategy, culture, and ways of working for the Software Development department in Research & Development.
• Act as a key enabling player for Roche Diagnostics’ capabilities in software development within analytics/pre-analytics:
• Maintain and evolve the Sub Chapter’s overarching expertise within the cross-functional network.
• Develop the capabilities of specialists, guiding translation of patient and customer needs into product design and development, implementation of IVD requirements, and product care solutions through the product lifecycle.
• Lead software development activities:
• Requirements specification and review at the instrument and unit level.
• Delivery of software architecture and development activities at the instrument and unit level.
• Design, specification, development, testing, and transfer to operations of all software components.
• Third-level support for customer inquiries.
• Provide effective and inspirational leadership for the department by coaching and liaising within the network.
• Support the implementation of R&D’s short-term to mid-term strategy for products and solutions in the analytics/pre-analytics field:
• Enable a network of experts to proactively influence and maintain the quality and sustainability of product design for the portfolio.

• Bachelor’s degree with 8-10 years, Master’s degree with 7-10 years, or vocational qualification with 10 years of relevant medical device industry experience (or equivalent).
• Deep specialized knowledge and solid background in software engineering.
• Proven track record of independently leading, motivating, and developing larger teams of specialists and managers.
• High proficiency in agile frameworks (Scrum, sprints, retrospectives).
• Systemic mindset and the ability to guide transformations and implement effective solutions.
• High level of English proficiency.
• Preferred residence in Barcelona.
