Job description

Test Engineer SME II positions offered by Jabil Inc. (Florence, Kentucky). Design and institutionalize ISO/QS-compliant Workcell systems that serve as the foundation for consistent and high-quality electronics testing across the organization. Architect scalable, long-lasting engineering standards and processes adopted by test engineers and managers at all levels, enabling seamless transitions and knowledge retention across workforce changes. Translate complex testing technologies into simplified, sustainable procedures, increasing accessibility, repeatability, and maintainability across cross-functional teams. Drive long-term cost reductions by embedding automation and process simplification into system architecture, reducing test time, manual effort, and operational costs. Developing and standardizing best-inclass test engineering practices that decrease test and debug time while supporting continuous process improvement. Establishing preventive maintenance and calibration procedures to ensure all test equipment operates at peak condition, minimizing downtime and improving reliability. Critically evaluating large-scale operational challenges, including test procedures, technician workflows, equipment layout, and facility design, to optimize overall throughput and process effectiveness. Standardizing configurations within Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to ensure consistent integration and performance across test platforms and product lines. Guiding New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts by embedding test engineering readiness into early development stages, enabling faster and more reliable production ramp-up. Mentoring engineers and influencing regional and global test teams through the development and dissemination of data-driven best practices that support long-term organizational growth.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field and 12 years of experience creating test processes for new products, including automated test equipment set-ups, lab environments for prototype evaluation, or final product testing zones prior to shipping. Must have 12 years of experience in each of the following: Implementing quality systems in test areas, including: employee safety processes for electrical and mechanical hazards; or product safety and quality processes to ensure proper handling and assembly. Calculating forecasts for test engineering activities by resource planning to support testing operations; and Developing strategies for debugging servers designed to run Machine Learning Applications (MLAs) used for web services, networking, storage, or high-performance workloads. In lieu of a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 12 years of experience as stated, employer will accept a master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 8 years of experience as stated, or a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 5 years of experience as stated. Must have 5 years of experience quoting cost and delivery estimates for new products or models for new and current customers. Experience may be acquired prior to completion of degree. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
