Job description

As a Junior Data Translator, you will play a pivotal role in managing the demand for data and AI projects within one of our teams. You will act as the key liaison between technical experts and educational stakeholders, ensuring that initiatives are aligned with institutional goals, deliver measurable impact, and drive data-informed decision-making., Your role as a Junior Data Translator will involve:

  • Collaborate with business, academic, and operational teams to understand their needs and identify opportunities for data and AI applications.
  • Translate business requirements into clear, actionable project briefs for data scientists, data engineers, AI specialists, and other technical teams.
  • Prioritize and manage the pipeline of data and AI projects, balancing strategic goals, operational demands, and available technical capacity.
  • Ensure effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering mutual understanding and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, manage timelines, coordinate stakeholders, and assess the impact of implemented solutions.
  • Conduct statistical and analytical assessments of information to generate actionable insights that help business teams better understand, activate, and leverage data in their decision-making processes.
  • Work with data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric to manage, transform, and prepare information for analysis, reporting, and project execution.
  • Perform ETL processes when needed, enabling greater autonomy in technical projects and reducing dependency on other teams for certain data preparation tasks.
  • Lead or contribute to end-to-end data projects, from understanding the business problem and transforming the required data, to performing the analysis, generating insights, and supporting implementation.
  • Facilitate training and workshops to enhance data literacy and promote AI and data adoption among academic and business teams.

Requirements

This role requires a strong combination of business understanding, analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and hands-on technical knowledge. The ideal candidate should be able not only to translate business needs into data and AI initiatives, but also to lead or directly execute more technical projects when needed, including data analysis, ETL processes, and the preparation of datasets for insight generation. A key aspect of the role is the ability to work with a high level of autonomy, helping the team move faster, respond more effectively to business needs, and enable better activation of data across the organization., * Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Education, Economics, Statistics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience managing data, analytics, or AI-related projects is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and transform it into clear, actionable insights.
  • Ability to connect business needs with technical solutions, translating complex data concepts into user-friendly language for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Hands-on knowledge of ETL processes, data preparation, and data transformation.
  • Familiarity with data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, or similar cloud-based data and analytics environments.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Understanding of AI applications and their potential use in educational, academic, or business contexts.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and move initiatives forward with agility.
