Spacecraft Operations Engineer

• Unterstützung bei der Entwicklung und Spezifikation des S/C-Betriebskonzepts sowie des Failure Detection, Isolation and Recovery (FDIR)-Konzepts unter der Leitung der OPS- und FDIR-Architekten
• Dienen als Schnittstelle zum Softwareteam für Ops/FDIR-bezogene Themen
• Unterstützung bei der Spezifikation der Eingangs-Anforderungen für die On-Board-Software der Plattform und die Anwendungssoftware für die Nutzlast
• Unterstützung bei der Anpassung des projektspezifischen Packet Utilization Standard (PUS) und der zugehörigen Telecommands und Telemetrie in enger Abstimmung mit den Plattform-Architekten (Thermal, AOCS etc.)
• Unterstützung des Ops-Architekten bei der Definition der Befehls- und Steuerungs-Paketstruktur(en) und des Space-to-Ground ICD
• Unterstützung der DHS- und SW-Architekten bei der Spezifikation, Implementierung und dem Testen des Plattform- und Nutzlast-Datenverarbeitungssubsystems
• Unterstützung bei der Sammlung von Eingaben für das Instrument Flight Operations Manual (FOM) sowie das Instrument User Manual (UM) und Erstellung der Ops/FDIR-bezogenen Inhalte
• Entwicklung und Test der Spacecraft Operations Procedures (SOPs) und On-Board Control/Macro Procedures (OBCPs/OBMPs)
• Unterstützung bei der Vorbereitung von Kundenbewertungen und Collocation-Meetings

• Abgeschlossenes Studium in Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik, Elektrotechnik, Softwaretechnik oder einem vergleichbaren Bereich
• Erfahrung in einer oder mehreren Avionik-Disziplinen (AOCS, DHS, SW, Ops/FDIR etc.) oder in einer avioniknahen Disziplin (AIT, Elektrotechnik)
• Erfahrung im Entwicklungsprozess von Plattformen oder Instrumenten sowie in der Validierung/im Testen von Raumfahrtsubsystemen und/oder Instrumenten
• Erfahrung mit Simulations- und/oder Testumgebungen (Matlab, CCS); Erfahrung mit internen Airbus-Avionik-Tools (Talent, FVMNeo etc.) ist von Vorteil
• Erfahrung in der Implementierung von ECSS-Standards und Kunden-Review-Prozessen (ESA oder DLR)
• Teamfähige Persönlichkeit mit guten Kommunikationsfähigkeiten, die gerne in einem multidisziplinären und transnationalen Projektteam arbeitet

• Serve as the interface to the software team for Ops/FDIR related topics
• Support the specification of the input requirements for the on-board software of the platform and application software for the payload
• Support the tailoring of the project-specific Packet Utilization Standard (PUS) and the associated telecommands and telemetry, in close coordination with the platform architects (Thermal, AOCS etc.)
• Support the Ops architect in the definition of the command and control packet structure(s) and space-to-ground ICD
• Support the DHS and SW Architects in the specification, implementation and testing of the platform and payload data handling sub-system
• Support the collection of inputs for the instrument flight operations manual (FOM) as well as the instrument user manual (UM) and write the Ops/FDIR-related content
• Develop and test the Spacecraft Operations Procedures (SOPs) and On-Board Control/Macro Procedures (OBCPs/OBMPs)
• Support the preparation of customer reviews and collocation meetings

Required Knowledge and Qualifications

• Completed degree in aerospace, electrical engineering, software engineering or a comparable field
• Experience in one or more avionics disciplines (AOCS, DHS, SW, Ops/FDIR etc.) or in an avionics-related discipline (AIT, electrical engineering)
• Experience in the platform or instrument development process as well as in validating/testing spacecraft sub-system(s) and/or instruments
• Experience with simulation and/or test environments (Matlab, CCS); experience with Airbus Avionics internal tooling (Talent, FVMNeo etc.) is an advantage
• Experience in implementing ECSS standards and customer (ESA or DLR) review processes
• Good team player with strong communication skills who enjoys working in a multicultural, transnational, and multidisciplinary project team
