Job description
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Data Governance Manager to work for our client within the public sector sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a fully remote role that will be based in UK (home-based). Our client is seeking a Data Governance Manager to support the advancement of data governance across a large and complex organisation. You will play a key role within the Data Architecture and Governance function, leading the development and implementation of frameworks, policies and standards to ensure high-quality, secure, and well-managed data. This is an excellent opportunity to drive cultural change, embed best practice, and influence how data is managed at scale., * Lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, standards, and policies across the organisation
- Manage and coach a team of data governance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
- Partner with Data Owners and Data Stewards to embed data management practices and accountability
- Ensure compliance with data protection and security requirements in collaboration with DPO and Information Security teams
- Define, monitor, and report on data governance metrics including data quality, lineage, and integrity
Requirements
- Strong experience working in data governance, data management, or data quality within a complex organisation
- Proven experience developing and implementing data governance frameworks and policies
- Experience managing or mentoring teams and driving organisational change
- Experience with data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview (or similar platforms), including data catalogue, lineage, and metadata management capabilities
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working across business and technical teams
- Minimum 5+ yearsâ experience in data governance, data management, or a related discipline
