Job description

At BOLD, we design and build the next generation of high-performance battery systems for the world’s most demanding industries - from Formula 1 and hypercars to aerospace, marine and defense. Our mission: to deliver energy systems where every millisecond and every degree matter. As a Senior Test Engineer, you will play a key role in validating the performance, safety and reliability of our high-voltage battery systems. You’ll design and execute advanced test plans, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn engineering concepts into proven, high-performing energy solutions., * Plan, execute and analyze validation tests to ensure our high-voltage battery systems meet the highest standards of performance, safety and reliability.

  • Develop and maintain Design Verification Plans (DVPs), linking system requirements to test activities and ensuring complete coverage throughout the validation process.
  • Set up and operate test benches and measurement systems - including battery cyclers, climatic chambers, vibration and shock rigs, EMC and abuse test setups.
  • Use tools like CANalyzer, CANoe, PCAN Explorer, Python, Concerto or vSignalyzer to collect, process and interpret test data.
  • Collaborate with design, systems, hardware and software engineers to identify issues, propose solutions and verify design improvements.
  • Apply and adapt testing standards and safety regulations from automotive, motorsport, aerospace and defense industries.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by refining test methodologies, introducing automation or data management tools, and supporting the development of new test infrastructure.
  • Act as a technical reference within the Testing team, guiding and supporting junior engineers in developing their testing skills and ensuring consistent, high-quality validation practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial, Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in testing or validation of HV systems, ideally in automotive, motorsport or aerospace.
  • Experience with vibration and shock testing, accelerometers and data acquisition systems.

Technical Skills

  • Experience in test planning, DVP creation and validation of HV battery systems or similar.
  • Proficiency with CAN tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, PCAN) and data analysis (Python, Concerto, vSignalyzer).
  • Hands-on use of HV test equipment: battery cyclers, climatic chambers, vibration, EMC, abuse testing.
  • Knowledge of testing standards (ISO 26262, UN 38.3, ECE R100 or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with automation, data management and continuous improvement in testing processes.

Languages

  • Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).

Benefits & conditions

  • High-growth, multicultural environment: be part of a fast-scaling company driving innovation in advanced electrification.
  • Flexible compensation: private health insurance with reduced cost for employees and family; subsidised canteen.
  • Flexible work schedule and up to 5 remote days per month.
  • Monthly Town Hall.
