Job description

When NATO stands up its Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine mission, the network underneath has to simply never fail. NSATU needs a senior Cisco engineer to provide the Level-3 routing and switching expertise that keeps that network available, secure and fast, across permanent and deployable environments reaching into Poland, Romania and Slovakia.

This is third-line, own-the-hard-problems engineering. You’ll diagnose the faults nobody else can, keep the infrastructure healthy, run change and release cleanly, and report the KPIs that prove the service is solid.

What you’ll do

  • Provide 3rd-level routing & switching support for NATO CIS (permanent and deployable)

  • Diagnose and resolve complex faults, locally and remotely

  • Run maintenance, backups and restores; keep documentation current

  • Own incident, change and release management to NATO process

  • Produce monthly service-performance and post-incident/RCA reports

  • Take part in governance and continuous service improvement

Requirements

3+ years each: CCNA (200-301) or equivalent, and deep Cisco routing & switching

  • OSPF and BGP at depth (multi-area, confederations, route reflectors), plus EIGRP/IS-IS

  • LAN engineering (HSRP, STP, VLANs, DHCP snooping, port-security)

  • Network authentication (802.1x, MACsec, RADIUS, TACACS+) and network security

  • Monitoring/automation tooling (Netscout, Splunk, CA Spectrum, HP Network Automation) and QoS

  • English to NATO SLP 3333 (STANAG 6001); CCNP Enterprise a plus

  • An active NATO Cosmic Top Secret clearance, or NATO Secret at start with CTS obtainable within year one
